Over 300 people took part in our consultation by completing questionnaires and getting involved in our live Q&A. Nearly everyone said that they supported our plans to transform the former market precinct into a thriving new destination. You were keen on seeing a new public square, events, new space to host a range of potential leisure and hospitality occupiers – including café-bars, independent retailers, and pop-ups – as well as a mix of high quality new homes delivered in the town centre.

After our first consultation in February 2021, local residents and stakeholders also told us that they wanted to see more family homes included in our plans to help meet local needs. We have used this feedback to help shape our plans and submitted a revised planning application to Bolton Council, which includes 12 family homes alongside 82 apartments.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we haven’t been able to talk with the local community in person about our vision for Farnworth town centre so we hosted a live online Q&A on Monday 8th February 2021 to get the local community involved in shaping our vision! To see what questions the local community threw our way, check out the video below.
